I am probably a complete idiot. But for several years now, the same situation has persisted: whenever I ask Google to show me some websites offering blank themes for WordPress, it only suggests sites with broken links or themes that are anything but blank.
Note well: a blank WordPress theme consists of simple empty blocks with no content whatsoever. Essentially, it is a framework to be filled with your own elements and design—without having to waste time stripping out everything you do not need.
As a result, the problem has to be solved by one’s own efforts. I will start with a technically up-to-date solution: to make things easier for myself, I have created six empty layouts for WP themes, compatible with WordPress 5+ and PHP 7 and PHP 8. I believe these templates can rightly be described as blank themes. And, of course, I am sharing these highly technological creations with you. Feel free to download them, either as a single archive or individually:
And for lovers of web antiquities, I also have some blank themes for WordPress 4.x. These are not my own work, but were created by Virtuosoft. In the first half of the 2010s, I managed to obtain them only through the legendary archive.org and, with the aim of making life easier for my WordPress-using readers, I decided to publish this discovered treasure on my website. And now that I have done so, they may as well remain available—it costs me nothing. If you happen to need them for any reason, feel free to download them, either as a single archive or individually:
