They might be&nbsp;interesting to&nbsp;other non-Milanese readers as&nbsp;well.<br \/>\n<center>* * *<\/center><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka1\"><\/a>First of&nbsp;all, the restoration\/modernisation of&nbsp;the Central Station is&nbsp;almost complete. On&nbsp;the outside it&nbsp;remains a&nbsp;building from the Mussolini era:<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan01.jpg\" title=\"Milan Central Station\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka2\"><\/a>Whereas inside it&nbsp;now resembles a&nbsp;small airport.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan02.jpg\" title=\"the interiors of Milan Central Station\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka3\"><\/a>Many shops have appeared, along with a&nbsp;new navigation system. By&nbsp;following the signs you will have to&nbsp;make several laps of&nbsp;the entire building before finding what you need. Exercise is&nbsp;good for your health.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan03.jpg\" title=\"the interiors of Milan Central Station\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka4\"><\/a>But in&nbsp;some halls the original style has been preserved.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan04.jpg\" title=\"the interiors of Milan Central Station\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka5\"><\/a>Sorry about the quality of&nbsp;the photo: it&nbsp;was seven in&nbsp;the morning and the sky was covered with clouds.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan05.jpg\" title=\"the interiors of Milan Central Station\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka6\"><\/a>On&nbsp;one side of&nbsp;the square onto which the station looks stands the Milanese &laquo;skyscraper&raquo; known as&nbsp;the Pirellone. Until recently it&nbsp;was the tallest building in&nbsp;the city (127.1&nbsp;metres, 31&nbsp;floors). Inside it&nbsp;house some of&nbsp;the offices of&nbsp;the Regional Authority.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan06.jpg\" title=\"the Pirellone in Milan\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka7\"><\/a>In&nbsp;the city centre, on&nbsp;the wall of&nbsp;the Strehler Theatre, I&nbsp;spotted a&nbsp;poster for an&nbsp;artist who is&nbsp;very popular in&nbsp;Russia but, unfortunately, little known in&nbsp;Italy.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan07.jpg\" title=\"Slava Polunins poster on the wall of the Strehler Theatre in Milan\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka8\"><\/a>The posters of&nbsp;Teatro alla Scala are difficult to&nbsp;photograph: they are placed behind glass, on&nbsp;which huge reflections appear throughout the day.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan08.jpg\" title=\"a poster for the Teatro alla Scala in Milan\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka9\"><\/a>But I&nbsp;made a&nbsp;real effort. For you, dear readers.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan09.jpg\" title=\"a poster for the Teatro alla Scala in Milan\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka10\"><\/a>It&nbsp;is&nbsp;early morning, the city is&nbsp;only just waking&nbsp;up.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan10.jpg\" title=\"the Teatro alla Scala in Milan\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka11\"><\/a>The famous theatre is&nbsp;never photographed from the side. Why? Because that way no&nbsp;one discovers that these three apparently independent buildings are in&nbsp;fact all La&nbsp;Scala.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/eugigufo.net\/travelfoto\/milano2010.09\/milan11.jpg\" title=\"the Teatro alla Scala in Milan\" border=\"0\"><br \/>\n<a name=\"fotka12\"><\/a>You may ask why&nbsp;I ventured into that area at&nbsp;such an&nbsp;hour. Obvious: to&nbsp;avoid the crowds of&nbsp;tourists and capture only the natives with my&nbsp;lens. Unfortunately, the natives were few and sleepy, so&nbsp;do&nbsp;not judge me&nbsp;too harshly.
