Mantua is not a bad city at all. Anyone who has never been there really ought to go. I could tell you about my visit to that city.
\n<\/a>I could tell you about its beautiful historic centre.
\n
\n<\/a>Or about the castle, which still has a moat full of water.
\n
\n<\/a>Or about the lakes full of fish and, as a result, flown over by seagulls.
\n
\n<\/a>But does anyone care about all this? Of course not.
\nBecause in Mantua there are things that are far more interesting.
\nIt was precisely in Mantua that a new rule of Italian grammar was invented, according to which a space is left between the apostrophe and the following word.
\n
\n<\/a>On the same street, however, that sign is counterbalanced by a rather nice shop sign.
\n
\n<\/a>At a certain point I noticed an object which comes closer than any of its relatives I have ever encountered to my idea of the perfect ashtray.
\n
\n<\/a>The automatic bollards that temporarily block access to cars flash with little red lights. No way you’d drive into them.
\n
\n<\/a>Some stormwater drain covers impress with their functionality.
\n
\n<\/a>On the lakeshore one comes across some U.N.O.s: Unidentified Navigating Objects.
